So these are my new running shoes! Yes you read right... I'm now running. Well I was running, I hurt my knee so I'm taking a week off from running and riding the bike, the kids LOVE it and I get to sleep in so it works. Anyway now that I'm back in the blogging world (thanks Rob for getting my computer working) I've been catching up on all my friends and EVERYONE seems to be running! So I took a page out of every one's book and started running. From Cami's page I purchased the Nike ipod for my shoes so I can see how far I've gone and how many calories I've burned and all that fun stuff, it really is the greatest motivation, it's kinda addictive too. And from Natalie I've gotten my running schedule, the one where at the end of eight weeks you can run for thirty mins without stopping. It starts out nice and slow and is just perfect. I've been surprised at how into it I've been. I was never into really active sports. I played a little golf in high school but that was it. I have this stereo type of women who run... really strong and independent, shop at the farmer's market, you know the type. Anyway, I run really early in the morning before the kids and husband wake up (I'm a good wife that way) and I'm really enjoying it. Everything from smelling the roses, (yes, spring is AMAZING in Oklahoma and you can literally smell the roses) to running along side little bunny rabbits who wont make up their minds on which way to go. And the best part of running (other than the 7 pounds I lost the first week) is seeing other runners and feeling like I'm apart of that stereo type now. I even shop at the farmer's market. Anyway just had to share what was going on with me, plus it's always fun to show off new shoes!Thursday, May 15, 2008

i LOVE it......good for you!!! and ummm...i have yet to lose 7 lbs in a week from anything other than giving birth, so way to go!!! i'm liking the shoes too, they look fast! ;) we'll keep each other in check, and i DON'T shop at the farmers market, but I might start now!!!! :)
Way to go! That's awesome!
Wow Amy, seven pounds! You're totally kicking my butt! I think it's funny that you admit to having stereotyped running women, because I had the same view! You're doing great, hope your knees start to feel better, too! Don't you hate knees? They get in the way of all good intentions!
Awesome Amy! I love my NikePlus. I have been able to work miracles with it. I am even training for a half marathon now and I was NEVER a runner.
