Our fun Labor Day weekend!

As most of you know Rob travels A LOT and we really don't get to do a lot of things together as a family that last more than a few hours so we were pretty excited when it worked out that we had enough time off work to actually go camping! On Sunday morning I was so excited about camping that I didn't even wait around for Rob, I loaded up the kids and all the gear, headed down to lake Arcadia and set up camp, I even put up our tent by myself, well, I actually had to have Ella hold a couple polls but we did it and the kids had a great time in the tent.

We have a double kayak that has actually been a sore spot for us in the past because it's kinda hard to figure out how to steer! But now that the kids are big enough to ride in it with us it's PERFECT! The kids had a BLAST and we had fun rowing on the lake at sunset. It was a typical, beautiful, Oklahoma sunset. Rob is the best dad and Charlie and Ella just can't get enough of him, he's so good to get in the water and play games and discover new things, it's no wonder they cling to him.
Charlie was my rowing partner, and Ella was Rob's, we usually pair up that way and I use to think it was because Charlie was little and Rob was more comfortable with Ella because she was older but as it turns out, Ella is a daddy's girl and Charlie is a mama's boy and I LOVE it!

Please excuse Charlie's crazy hair, he needs a haircut so bad! But these two have turned out to be pretty good friends, they seem to really like each other. When it was bed time and they were far from sleep, Rob and I just gave up on trying to make them lay down and we zipped them in the tent and sat by the fire. We watched them have the best time playing swords with their glow sticks and jumping on the air mattress, they thought they were really getting away with something. I feel blessed that I have such great kids and that they are making such fun memories.

And this is the end result of our two day camping trip, I put them in the car with the AC while we finished loading up the cars and before I even made the second trip they were out like a light. I miss having my babies and they really are growing up too fast for my liking but with that said... this stage where we can do stuff with them and we get to see their reactions to everything really is priceless.
