So Rob and I have been talking about getting me a puppy, Rufus is Rob's dog, and he is a great dog and I do love him but he just doesn't like kids and I always feel so sad when my kids want to play with Rufus and he just leaves the room to find the comfort and quiet of his bed. It's been a debate because Rob didn't want two dogs at one time and I just don't believe in that kind of thinking. Anyway, Rob was playing Frisbee golf when he saw this man with a beautiful weinerimer puppy, which is the kind of dog we talked about getting when we were dating! It just so happened that this dog's parents had another litter. So spur of the moment we went to look at dogs. They were only a week old, and since they weren't in their cute puppy stage yet, it was easy for Rob to convince me that we didn't need another puppy and that we should hold out for one that was silver instead of getting the light brown little girl that I had fallen in love with. He spent the whole week shattering any hope of me getting a puppy any time soon and right when I thought all spontaneity and romance was drained from this man he completely blindsided me! I thought we were just looking at her again for the fun of it but the lady handed her over to me and gave me a list of dates and instruction on how to feed her and I looked over at Rob not quite understanding what was going on and then I saw his ornery grin and I knew what he'd done. He went to the car and pulled out a colar and bed and crate and the whole nine yards. It was very romantic. So we finally got the dog we dreamed of ,seven years to the date, and she is so worth the wait! Oh, and we named her Poppy, like the flower.
