Last night Charlie woke up a million times, not fussy or sick, happy as can be, just wanted to play. So when it was time to get out of bed and get ready for church my body refused. My back was literally stuck to my bed. It wasn't a concise disicion to miss church, I never thought "We'll just skip this week." I kept trying to get out of bed it just wouldn't happen. So we missed church and after sleeping in a bit and eating cereal Rob decided that we should go on these hiking trails that we've seen but never been on. We had so much fun! I didn't have my camera so you will be looking at other people's pictures but they all look just like where we went so you can get the idea. This is a little park where you can feed turtles and fishes over bridges, climb up stairs to a little tree house observation deck and watch birds, It was all really exciting. Some of the highlights were these little guys...

Charlie and Ella found a little green beetle bug and you would have thought they found gold. The poor thing was even dead but they had the best time looking at it and there were actually quite a few other people on the trail and Charlie and Ella would stop everyone and show them what they found. One nice man bent down on Charlie's level to talk to him and find out what he was so excited about and Charlie took the man's face in both of his hands and pointed is face towards the bug so he couldn't miss it. It was really cute. And when we asked Ella what her favorite part was she said it was this....

A snake skeleton, there is a little museum there that have all sorts of little aquariums full of baby turtles, fish, toads, arrow heads... it was a fun place. They even had a little move section where they could learn about star gazing. But in a little frame was this snake and his bones and Ella just really loved it. She really loves all the Tim Burton movies like
Nightmare before Christmas and
Corpse Bride so it really doesn't surprise me. Anyway, all and all it was a really fun day and since it was free I think we will be returning again soon!
